friday night -- van's vietnamese with mama. fell asleep early
saturday -- mom took me to macy's around 1:30 and used her gift card to get me a few articles of clothing way out of our pay range. then she used another gift card when we went to complexions and both got half-hour massages...amazing! then we checked into the desmond, my favorite hotel in albany, where she had a free night's stay because she's good at her job. we got ready and dressed and went to the scrimshaw--nicest restaurant i've ever been to--and that made me feel like royalty. it was a seven course meal with 4 or 5 seperate servers. we got free dessert and drank a bunch of free saratoga sparkling water (for those who don't know, that stuff is expensive!). we went back up to the room at ten and watched a movie until we fell asleep.
sunday -- unitarian service is much friendlier than catholic service (which i haven't been to in 2 years)! after service, went to the Oriel meeting and helped edit the poems and stories a little bit. the mom and i went to the new world cafe, which is all sustainable food...delicious. we got back here around 3 or so, meaning we had a whole 24+ hour hometown adventure :) i love my mom. i worked from 5:30-11, with allison and then just with manager matt. came back here, tried to watch titanic with rach and fell asleep.
monday -- woke up around ten. cleaned up a bit. jen picked me up at 1 and we went to her friend's grandmother's house so she could cut her hair, then to a late lunch at chili's with josh thornton who is actually very nice, and then went to lark vegas. i got my nipple pierced! the right one, the side with the tattoo. i told jen that i'd wanted to, and she offered the pay half so she provoked my impulsivity. at 6 she dropped me off at kristina's and the two of us went to northern lights to see manchester orchestra (also: around the world and back, o'brother, the features) and the show was great. got a free CD and an $8 t-shirt from the guy from the local band that played. got home a little after midnight.
now i'm here! the subject line was not referring to the weather, by the way. it's been dreary. however, it'll be better later in the week!
